Path through the bluebells

During a lovely walk around the Ashridge Estate at the weekend, I walked though the magical Dockey wood where the bluebells are still in bloom.

Glastonbury Tor

The ancient and spiritual Tor has long been linked with King Arthur and Avalon. Speculated to be one of the possible locations of the Holy Grail. It really is an awesome place at night, very spooky vibe. This was taken very early in the morning, about an hour before sunrise. The moon was almost full so there was plenty of light and the sheep and rabbits were wandering around without a care in the world.

Hanmers Cottage, Lundy Island

This cottage on Lundy Island was built by a fisherman in 1902. He chose a good site, a dip in the hill, on the path from the beach to the castle, so the place is sheltered but has the usual wonderful view out to sea towards Devon

Antony Gormley Statue, Lundy Island

To celebrate 50 years of the Landmark Trust, the artist Anthony Gormley (who designed the angel of the north) was commisioned to erect 5 life sized statues at special locations around the UK. This is the one on the edge of a cliff on Lundy Island which is a spectacular location. I took this at sunset facing north and you can see the 'Old Light' lighthouse in the background.

This is one of 3 lighthouses on Lundy Island. Positioned at the highest point in the middle of this remote little island it is also the prettiest, especially during sunset.

Land's End is a headland and holiday complex in western Cornwall and it is the most westerly point of England, is within the Penwith peninsula and is about eight miles (13 km) west-south-west of Penzance at the starting and finishing point of the A30 road.

St Michaels Mount, Cornwall

I went specifically to Cornwall at the weekend to shoot this place. I was hoping for a lovely sunset but unfortunately the English weather decided not to oblige. So here is a rather cool and cloudy shot of this lovely place and I will have to return later this year and try again :-)

Borrowdale, Cumbria

During a wet weekend in the Lake District I spent most of it walking around Derwentwater and Borrowdale. The houses around here are made from local materials and really look like they would last forever.
